Vivo has launched its latest flagship phone series, the X90 series, in India. The lineup includes the Vivo X90 and Vivo X90 Pro, which succeed the previous year’s X80 and X80 Pro models. Both X90 series smartphones boast the latest-generation hardware and are primarily focused on providing professional-level mobile photography.
The Vivo X90 Pro boasts a triple rear camera configuration, comprising a 50MP 1-inch camera created in collaboration with Zeiss. This camera presents a range of shooting modes, including handheld astro mode, Zeiss-enhanced portrait modes, integrated photo filters, and exceptional low light photography and videography capabilities.
The Vivo X90 Pro is priced at Rs 84,999 for the 12GB+256GB variant, while the Vivo X90 is available for Rs 59,999 (8GB+256GB) and Rs 63,999 (12GB+256GB). Both smartphones will be available for purchase starting May 5, 2023, on Flipkart, Vivo India e-store, and partner retail stores. The X90 Pro’s camera array features a Zeiss 1-inch primary sensor, complemented by the industry-leading IMX989 sensor from Sony. This larger sensor offers a 77% enhancement in photosensitive area and a 43% increase in light intake capacity, ensuring vibrant, intricate images and videos even in dimly lit conditions. Additionally, the smartphone is equipped with a dedicated 50MP portrait camera incorporating a Sony IMX758 sensor, f1.6 aperture, and OIS. The X90 Pro debuts Vivo’s independent optical image stabilization (OIS) technology and is compatible with the Active Centering OIS System, boasting CIPA Level 4 standard stabilization. A 12MP ultra-wide (IMX663) lens and a 32MP front-facing camera complete the setup.
The Vivo X90 features an upgraded camera setup from its predecessor, with a 50MP VCS True Color main camera, 12MP portrait camera, and 12MP ultra-wide camera, as well as a 32MP front camera.
The X90 Pro and X90 possess comparable features, such as a 6.78-inch FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display with SCHOTT Xensation α scratch-resistant coating, Ultra Vision Eye Protection, 1.07-billion color capacity, 100% DCI-P3 wide color gamut, and HDR10+ compatibility. Moreover, both devices offer a Zeiss Natural Colour mode to improve natural color representation on the display and provide flicker-free brightness control.
The Vivo X90 comes in Asteroid Black and Breezey Blue, while the Vivo X90 Pro is offered in Legendary Black, complete with a vegan leather finish. Both devices incorporate a dual-chip combination of MediaTek Dimensity 9200 and Vivo’s V2 imaging chip, alongside varying RAM and storage options. The smartphones are equipped with a dual-speaker system, an X-axis vibration motor, and run on Funtouch OS13, which includes a 3-year OS update commitment. The X90 series now features an international warranty, enabling global maintenance support and service.
