Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5: Leaked Renders Reveal Design and Potential Upgrades

-

Samsung has yet to provide an official timeline for the launch of its Galaxy Z Fold models, but they are expected to be unveiled at an unpacked event in July this year. Alongside updates for the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 4, the larger Galaxy Z Fold 5 is also anticipated to receive minor or more subtle updates. After numerous leaks, a series of leaked artist renders now provide a peek at what the Galaxy Z Fold 5 might look like.

Leaked Artist Renders of the Galaxy Z Fold 5

In collaboration with @OnLeaks, Smartprix has shared artist renders of the Galaxy Z Fold 5. The source claims that these renders are based on measurements and dimensions provided by another tipster (@UniverseIce) in an earlier tweet. The foldable’s design remains mostly unchanged when compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 4 model we reviewed last year.

Retaining Design Elements with a Focus on Camera Improvements

According to the renders, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 appears to maintain the flatter sides of the frame, as well as the placement of the speakers and buttons. A noticeable difference, however, is the rear camera module design. Although the overall design is similar, it now protrudes significantly, appearing chunkier. This could hint at improved cameras, which may require more space and need to be raised a few millimeters compared to the previous model.

Details on Foldable’s Closed State Remain Unclear

While the renders display the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 from multiple angles, there is no render showing the bottom or top view of the handset in a closed state. Consequently, it remains unclear whether the two halves of the foldable sit flat against each other. The source does mention that there will be a minor gap between the two halves when the phone is in a closed state.

Galaxy Z Fold 5: Rumored Specifications and Pricing

A recent report leaked numerous details about the Galaxy Z Fold 5, suggesting the phone will have a display similar to the outgoing model, but brighter. Other potential upgrades include Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection for the outer display, a more durable inner display, and a revamped hinge. The phone’s starting price is expected to be around $1,799, or approximately Rs. 1,47,000.
