According to Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, Apple is reportedly planning to launch a new higher-end iPhone model in 2024. This model, which is expected to be called the “Ultra” iPhone, would be priced higher than the current iPhone 14 Pro Max and offer a range of advanced features. The iPhone has become an integral part of people’s lives, and the company’s CEO, Tim Cook, is confident that customers will be willing to pay more for more advanced features.
The new iPhone will feature further camera improvements, a faster processor, and a larger display. Gurman also suggests that it could be a portless device, relying solely on wireless charging. In his recent research notes, TF Securities analyst Ming-Chi-Kuo also mentioned camera improvements that could be coming to the iPhone 15 series in 2023. He also suggested that Apple could adopt a periscope lens for an upcoming iPhone 16 model, offering improved optical zoom and helping to differentiate its Pro and Pro Max devices.
With Samsung already offering multiple unique products in its premium segment, such as the Galaxy S Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold, and Z Flip devices, it will be interesting to see how Apple further diversifies its premium iPhones. Currently, Apple sells a base iPhone 14, a slightly pricier iPhone 14 Plus with a bigger battery and display, and the top-tier iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models, with better cameras and a new display with dynamic island cutouts.
