Ola Electric Bikes: Launch in India with 3 Models, Range up to 174 Kms

Ola Electric, the electric vehicle subsidiary of ride-hailing giant Ola, is reportedly set to launch three new electric motorcycles in the Indian market. Although details about the launch timeline and the models are scarce, the rumour mill suggests that the new offerings will be an alternative to Ola Electric’s S1 series of electric scooters and will come at various prices with different ranges and performance capabilities.

The first model, called the Ola “Out of the World”, is said to be the range’s flagship model. It is reported to have a range of up to 174 km on a single charge and a top speed of 11 kmph. It is also rumoured to come with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), a rare feature in the motorcycle market, and is expected to cost around INR 1.5 lakhs ($2,090).

The second model, called the Ola Performax, is expected to be a mid-range offering with three different variants. The base variant, with a range of 91 km and top speed of 93 kmph, may cost INR 1,05,000 ($1,450). The second variant, with a range of 133 km and top speed of 95 kmph, is expected to cost INR 1,15,000 ($1,590). The top variant, with a range of 174 km and top speed of 95 kmph, is expected to cost INR 1,25,000 ($1,700).

The entry-level offering will be the third and final model, the Ola Ranger. The base variant is expected to cost INR 85,000 ($1,170) and come with a range of 80 km and a top speed of 91 kmph. The mid-variant, priced at INR 95,000 ($1,310), is said to have a range of 117 km and a top speed of 91 kmph. The premium variant, priced at INR 1.5 lakhs, is rumoured to have a range of 153 km and a top speed of 91 kmph.

Ola Electric’s reported foray into the electric motorcycle market will surely be watched closely by industry observers, especially in light of the company’s impressive growth and innovative offerings in the electric scooter market. With three models rumoured to be in the pipeline, there is a lot of speculation about what Ola Electric has in store for the future of electric mobility in India.
