Xiaomi, the Chinese electronics company, has recently launched MIUI 14, its latest operating system for smartphones. One of the most significant features of MIUI 14 is Smart ROM Optimisation. This feature optimises the way MIUI uses the RAM and internal storage of the device. It analyses infrequently used apps and drastically reduces the cached storage, reducing the storage used by as much as 3GB over a period of three months. Xiaomi has also reduced the space taken by MIUI to deliver a better user experience. This means that for phones with 128GB of internal storage, up to 4GB of additional storage can be availed.
Faster Boot-Up Speed
MIUI 14 has a RAM optimisation feature that offers a faster boot-up experience. It uses 214MB less boot-up memory, enabling one of the quickest boot-up speeds ever seen on a Xiaomi device. Additionally, MIUI 14 has reduced the RAM occupied by the 19 most-used system apps by 11%, including camera, clock, messages, and more, while also reducing the memory usage of apps running in the background by 6% compared to MIUI 13.
New Design and Visual Experience
Xiaomi has reimagined the home screen of MIUI 14 with a fresh design and appealing widgets. There are six new compelling wallpapers and new card-style widgets that add distinctive design elements, further enhanced by fluid animations. This offers a unique visual experience for the users.
