The rankings are based on the Index score, a measure of overall brand health calculated by taking the average perception of impression, quality, value, satisfaction, recommend, and reputation over a period of 12 months. The rankings were determined by scores between January 1, 2022, and December 31, 2022.

German manufacturers also featured prominently in the rankings, with BMW taking fourth place with a score of 22.3, followed by Mercedes-Benz in sixth place with 20.0 and Audi in seventh place with 19.3. Meanwhile, Mahindra & Mahindra moved up five places to take the fifth spot with a score of 21.0.
