Honda has recently launched the facelift of the fifth-generation City, with prices starting from Rs 11.49 lakh and going up to Rs 20.39 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the top-spec City Hybrid. The facelift features minor cosmetic changes, new entry-level variants, and more equipment, making it a compelling option in the mid-size sedan segment.

Exterior and Interior Details The updated City gets minor cosmetic changes inside-out, including tweaked bumpers, a slimmer chrome bar on the grille, and a honeycomb pattern on higher variants. The layout, upholstery, and switchgear remain almost unchanged.

Honda has made significant updates to the City model with the addition of new trims and safety features. The facelift introduces the new SV trim, which features manual transmission, and a new entry-level V trim for the City Hybrid. The update also includes advanced safety features such as adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and autonomous emergency braking, which are available even on the petrol variants.

The powertrain options have also been revised, with the removal of the 1.5-litre diesel engine. The City facelift is now offered with a 121hp, 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with a 6-speed manual or a CVT gearbox, and a 126hp, Atkinson Cycle 1.5-litre petrol-hybrid with an eCVT transmission. Both petrol and petrol-hybrid powertrains meet RDE norms and are E20 compliant.

Warranty Details

Honda is providing customers with a generous warranty package for both the petrol and hybrid versions of its City model. The standard warranty includes 3 years or unlimited kilometers, which can be extended up to 5 years for added peace of mind. The City hybrid has an additional warranty for its lithium-ion battery, which lasts for 8 years or 1,60,000 km. This longer warranty on the battery demonstrates Honda’s confidence in the reliability and durability of their hybrid technology. With these warranties, customers can feel secure knowing that their investment is protected and they can enjoy their Honda City for years to come.

The Honda City facelift will take on the likes of the Skoda Slavia, Volkswagen Virtus, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, and the Hyundai Verna.
