-

Force Motors have recently launched the Citiline MUV at a starting price of Rs 15.93 lakh (ex-showroom). The Citiline is based on the Trax Cruiser, which is sold as a commercial vehicle. With this launch, Force Motors are targeting customers who require a people carrier with a larger seating capacity. Let’s take a closer look at the new MUV and what it has to offer.

Design and Features of the Force Citiline MPV:

The Citiline is longer than its base model, the Trax Cruiser, with a length of 5,120mm. The grille and front bumper of the Citiline finish in body color and have square chrome accents in the four horizontal slots. The Citiline logo is placed in the grille, much like the respective logos on the Force Gurkha and Urbania. The vehicle’s side profile looks almost identical to the Trax Cruiser, with the only differences being the three-slot air vents above the front wheels and body-colored wheel arches and lower parts of the body.

The Citiline’s interior can accommodate up to 10 passengers, including the driver. The second row features a bench, while the third row has captain’s chairs and another bench in the fourth row. The second row has a 60:40 split for entry into the last two seats. Citiline’s interior is basic and does not even feature an infotainment system. It has roof-mounted air conditioning vents for the rear passengers.

Powertrain of the Force Citiline MPV:

Powering the Citiline is a Mercedes-Benz-derived 2.6-liter diesel engine that produces 91hp and 250Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and features an anti-lock braking system (ABS) and electronic brake-force distribution (EBD).

Registration Issues for the Force Citiline MPV:

Citiline does not qualify in Maharashtra as a private vehicle since state rules allow for only up to 8-seaters to be registered as private vehicles. Citiline faces a similar issue in Delhi as well, but it can be registered in many other states.

Furthermore, Force Motors is planning to launch a five-door version of the Gurkha SUV, which is expected to have multiple seating options and share lots of bits with the three-door version. The three-door and five-door versions of the Gurkha look largely similar, apart from the extra two doors and the longer wheelbase.
