Apple releases first Indian film shot on iPhone

-

Film directors, ad film makers, and music video directors across the world have been using the iPhone for years to shoot commercial projects. One of the most popular examples is Selena Gomez’s music video for her hit song “Lose You to Love Me”, which was shot entirely on the iPhone. Apple has now released a new film, “Fursat,” which showcases the capabilities of the iPhone 14 Pro.

“Fursat” is a Bollywood-style musical, directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, and is available on YouTube and Apple’s official website. The film runs for 30 minutes and features songs and choreographed dances, showcasing the full range of popular cinema.

The professionals who worked on “Fursat” were impressed with the iPhone’s capabilities. Swapnil Sonawane, the director of photography, who has worked on popular projects such as Sacred Games, was surprised by how much the iPhone could handle. He praised the Action Mode, which provides steady and smooth video even when capturing in the middle of action, and the Cinematic Mode, which enables automatic focus changes and depth-of-field effects for more immersive storytelling.

Vishal Bhardwaj, the director, found the experience of shooting on the iPhone to be “liberating.” He praised the scale that the iPhone can achieve and said that he had never experienced such scale in his previous films.

The two modes that enable filmmaking on the iPhone are the Action Mode and the Cinematic Mode. The Action Mode is easy to toggle on in video mode and provides additional stabilization in situations where the person capturing the video is moving around a lot, like running. The Cinematic Mode, on the other hand, supports 4K resolution up to 30 fps, including 24 fps, which is the go-to frame rate for movie shots. This mode enables automatic focus changes and depth-of-field effects, making it easy for anyone to capture cinema-style moments.

In conclusion, the iPhone 14 Pro has been praised by professionals for its capabilities in filming commercial projects. The Action Mode and Cinematic Mode provide filmmakers with the tools they need to capture high-quality footage, making it easier to create engaging and immersive stories. The release of “Fursat” showcases the full potential of the iPhone as a filmmaking tool and demonstrates how it can be used to create professional-quality films.
